Back to ResumePointPrivacy policy

Your work context stays yours.

ResumePoint is designed as an on-device Mac app. This policy explains what it stores, what it deliberately does not read, and the controls you have.

Last updated: August 24, 2026

What ResumePoint stores locally

ResumePoint stores the checkpoint title and the context you enter: what you just completed, your next step, and anything unresolved.

To restore a workspace, it also stores the metadata you explicitly select or enable: app names and bundle identifiers, browser tab titles and URLs, Xcode workspace locators, and security-scoped references for selected files. Preferences and a history of up to 20 checkpoints are stored on this Mac.

What it does not read or collect

  • Webpage body content, form fields, cookies, or passwords
  • Document contents or source-code contents
  • Chrome Incognito tabs
  • Analytics, advertising identifiers, or an online account

Safari Private Browsing limitation

Permissions

Automation permission is requested only when ResumePoint needs to find or restore a supported browser tab or Xcode workspace. You can enable or disable capture separately for Chrome and Safari.

ResumePoint does not require Accessibility or Screen Recording permission for its global shortcuts or core restore flow.

License activation, payments, and website requests

The Mac app has no account, cloud sync, or analytics SDK, and never transmits checkpoint content to ResumePoint servers.

Activation sends the normalized License Key, a random installation UUID, an optional device label you enter, the app and major version, and the macOS platform. It does not send the computer name, hardware serial number, hardware UUID, checkpoint content, browser URLs, or file paths. The License Key and random installation UUID are stored in the macOS Keychain.

The License service stores a keyed hash of the License Key and the random installation UUID-to-activation mapping. The checkout merchant processes payment details, tax, receipts, refunds, and License Key delivery under its own privacy policy. ResumePoint never receives payment-card details.

When you visit this website or download a release, the hosting and download providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps for delivery, security, and reliability. ResumePoint does not use that information to build advertising profiles.

Retention, deletion, and your control

ResumePoint keeps up to 20 checkpoints on this Mac. You can delete individual checkpoints, pause observation, disable browser capture, or erase all checkpoints from Settings.

Removing the app may leave its local support data behind. To remove checkpoint data, use Delete All Checkpoints before uninstalling. The support guide includes complete uninstall steps.
